Smashbox first caught my attention when I stumbled across a Youtube video which featured the brand. It featured one of there Be Legendary Lipsticks. Having amassed quite the lipstick collection over the years I was interested to broaden my lip horizons and try out a new brand. Until now I'd only really rated MAC lipsticks for their longevity and matte finish. I decided to take the plunge and order myself a lippie! I all of a sudden found myself on the Smashbox website where it popped up; if you spent over a certain amount (probably a lot more than I'd first budgeted myself, oops) you got 3, yes 3 free lipsticks and like every good consumer I was then pulled into the online deal!
I've never been good at eye makeup so after days of research and a live chat later, I bought my first eyeshadow pallette. With all the equipment and zero knowhow it's gone relatively unused. This was until recently.
It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago, so over bank holiday me and gorgeous friends spent the weekend in London. They surprised me with a 'Going All Out Tonight' make up session at Smashbox in Covent Garden! I've always wanted to get my make up done professionally and get a tip or two and I did not leave disappointed.
The session was 60 mins and after showing the lovely Zoe at Smashbox what I planned to wear on our evening out, she created this amazing look to go with my metallic jumpsuit (surprise surprise I wore a jumpsuit, I had to stop myself from wearing one to the party the night before too. It's becoming quite the issue!). I loved, loved, loved the look and wish I could do it all over again. There were serious emotions when I had to take it all off! Even after we were make up ready we spent a good chunk of the afternoon in store taking pics on their boomerang booth and had way to much fun posing with the props!
I would HIGHLY recommend booking an appointment if you have a special occasion or night out coming up and you get to redeem the cost back in makeup so it's a win win! It was such a fun experience, I can't thank my best friends enough for my birthday present and it was even better we all got it done together!
Keep your eyes peeled for a follow up post featuring all the products I came away with and how I'm getting on putting my experience into practise!
