Don't you just love awards season. I mean just for the fashion alone (darling) it's enough to get you fantasising about the movie star career you should have forged for yourself. But, alas age is now against me, I should have taken my Stage Coach years far more seriously at the time, who knows what I could have become?!
GOWNS. TUXES. DESIGNER AND LUXURY HEAVEN ON A RED CARPET EARTH.
The BAFTAS last night was a sight to be seen and just for the fun of it I've picked my absolute fashion and illustrious BAFTA guest favourites.
I HAD to begin with Lucy Boynton of Bohemian Rhapsody, Murder on the Orient Express fame. This two tone Dior wonder of a dress! The pleated skirt and feathering details are just GORGEOUS and so incredibly elegant. I love this girls style and have to admit to a slight girl crush developing after having watched the film and seen her rock this awards season with her amazing hair, gorge make up, basically just consistently knock out looks. It's a 10 out of 10 from me!
Where do I start?! LILY COLLINS YOU STYLE QUEEN! This look is SO me, I need it in my wardrobe (ya know, for that invite to an awards ceremony I'm gonna get...). The most luscious of blues, the lace skirt and tailored jacket with stand up collar (how I always wear my jackets!) scores this Givenchy get up a top 3 spot in my BAFTA faves. JUST J'ADORE. Also has everyone seen Lily in the recent Les Misérables series, incredible performance in the greatest dramatisation of the story.
Fierce. Strong. Look. From Supporting Actor nominee Timothée Chalamet (insert clapping hands emoji here). From the jazzy printed jacket, to the army style boots and contrast checkered side stripe trousers, yes, yes and yes. I am here for this 'Haider Ackermann' look and seeing a lot more from this chap in the imminent future!
It's the Diner lady from Cinderella Story! IRL it's Regina King wearing Versace who looks stunning in this fuchsia pink number! The neckline and décolletage detailing on this gown is just stunning, I'm even thinking prospective wedding dress design (for the wedding I'll be having in the incredibly distant future at this rate, #singleAF). I'm in love with this whole look and who doesn't love a cheeky bit of leg through a split in a dress?!
Last, but by no means least. All bow down to Margot Robbie and this A M A ZINGGG Chanel SS19 gown, which apparently took 690 hours to create and you can see how! A work of utter craftsmanship and adorned so perfectly by the stunning Margot. As a huge fan of Neighbours, the shear fact she has gone from Neighbours schoolgirl actress to one of the most talented Hollywood stars fill me with such prides and joy! I feel as if I have been there from the start!
Don't you just love awards season! Right, I need to go catch up on the Grammys and prepare for the Brits, Oscars and god knows what other awards ceremony I've forgotten about but bound to hear about this month. Argh and we have London Fashion Week starting on Friday too, oh just stop it everyone, you're spoiling me here!
